Jitka Nováčková undergoes heart procedure at IKEM
Former Czech Miss 2011, Jitka Nováčková, has undergone a medical procedure at the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague to treat a congenital heart defect.
Nováčková revealed that she underwent a PFO closure, a minimally invasive procedure to close a patent foramen ovale—a small opening between the right and left atria of the heart. She noted that while approximately one-quarter of the population has this condition without symptoms, she required intervention to prevent potential complications such as a heart attack.
The procedure involved a catheter-based technique where a small plug is inserted into the opening via a vein in the groin. Nováčková, who waited six months for the procedure, reported that the surgery was successful and she is currently recovering without major complications.
