Jitu Patwari demands probe into Madhya Pradesh liquor tenders

Jitu Patwari, President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, has written to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav demanding a high-level investigation into the state's liquor tender process. Patwari alleges that a small group of companies has maintained a dominant influence over the liquor trade from 2012-13 through 2026-27.

According to the claims, four business groups control approximately 70 percent of the market, with the same companies repeatedly securing tenders in various districts over many years. Patwari questioned the transparency and fairness of the system, noting that despite the implementation of an online tendering process, old patterns appear to be recurring.

The Congress leader has called for an independent and high-level audit of all major liquor tenders since 2012-13. He requested that details regarding participating companies, their bids, eligibility, and final selection processes be made public to investigate potential collusion, cartels, or improper links between officials and businesses.
