Security cameras in the Alvorada neighbourhood of Manaus captured jiu‑jitsu professor Ângelo Carioca striking a teenage boy later identified as having Autism Spectrum Disorder. The footage shows the teen receiving slaps and punches on a public street. The Amazonas Civil Police opened a case and the investigation remains ongoing.

Carioca later issued a public apology, saying he lost control while trying to defend a stray dog he claimed the teenager was attacking. He said he was unaware of the boy’s condition, offered to cooperate with authorities, and emphasized that his intention was not to harm anyone.
