Jiutepec authorities confirm deaths of two dogs after controversial detention

Authorities in Jiutepec confirmed the deaths of two dogs, Oslo and Negrita, following intense pressure from residents and animal rights activists. Municipal Secretary Arturo Flores Solorio acknowledged that the animals were killed on September 10, the same day they were detained by municipal personnel under the pretext of alleged aggression.

Activists and neighbors have disputed the official reasoning, stating that the dogs were vaccinated, sterilized, and that adoption procedures were already underway. The municipal authorities reportedly administered lethal injections without following standard medical protocols and subsequently buried the remains in a municipal property in Lomas del Texcal, which activists have described as a clandestine cemetery due to a lack of sanitary permits.
