Jiuzhang Cloud Leads China’s Token‑as‑a‑Service Standard Adoption

Jiuzhang Cloud (九章云极) became the first company to pass both the “Token Factory Full‑Stack Service Capability” and “High‑Quality Token Cloud Service Capability” assessments released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology at the 13th Trusted Cloud Conference in Beijing. The certification creates a quantitative benchmark for the domestic token industry, positioning token usage as a core commodity in AI computing.

At the same time, senior executives from more than a dozen Chinese listed firms, including Jiuzhang Cloud, have announced the rollout of “Token factory” business models that shift high‑end computing from hardware leasing to Token‑as‑a‑Service (TaaS). The new model ties revenue to token consumption rather than GPU rental, reflecting a broader industry trend toward selling services measured in tokens. Analysts note that despite rising compute costs, demand will outpace supply through 2027, prompting major players such as Amazon to raise capital spending forecasts.

These developments mark a coordinated effort to standardise token measurement, improve cost efficiency, and enable scalable AI model deployment across sectors such as finance, industry, and government.
