Jizerská 50 organizers bring snow to Charles Bridge

To mark the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Jizerská 50 cross-country skiing race, organizers brought 3.5 tons of natural snow to Prague's Charles Bridge in mid-August. The installation featured a three-meter-wide, twenty-centimeter-deep skiing track created from snow collected from four local ice rinks.

Prominent athletes, including Olympic medalist Martin Koukal and elite racer Sandra Schützová, participated in the event to launch registration for the jubilee race. The promotional activity allowed tourists and locals to try retro skis and clothing on the temporary track. The 60th edition of the race is scheduled to take place on February 14, 2027, at the Bedřichov Ski Stadium.
