JJ Gabriel scores hat-trick on UEFA Youth League debut for Manchester United
Fifteen-year-old JJ Gabriel scored a hat-trick on his UEFA Youth League debut to lead Manchester United to a 5-0 victory against Sabah FK U19 at Leigh Sports Village.
Gabriel, a highly regarded prospect in the Carrington academy, has been integrated into first-team training sessions. Due to Premier League age regulations, he is eligible to make a senior debut this season. If he features for the first team before turning 16 in October, he would become Manchester United’s youngest-ever first-team player.
Manchester United officials, including director of football Jason Wilcox and director of recruitment Christopher Vivell, were in attendance for the match. Gabriel’s performance follows previous appearances with the senior squad during their pre-season tour, including a substitute appearance against Atletico Madrid.
