JJ Gabriel requests Manchester United exit amid interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona

Manchester United academy prospect JJ Gabriel has formally requested to terminate his registration with the club, sparking a high-profile transfer battle among Europe’s elite. The 15-year-old, who holds an Irish passport, is reportedly seeking a move to a club that can offer better development opportunities following what is described as a decline in Manchester United’s status since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are the primary frontrunners for his signature. Reports indicate Gabriel has already traveled to Spain for discussions with Barcelona, while Real Madrid has made contact with Manchester United to explore the situation. Other major clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, are also monitoring the talent.

Manchester United is attempting to persuade Gabriel to stay but is also preparing for his departure. As a contingency, the club is scouting 16-year-old Lens midfielder Mezian Mesloub. Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has warned against rushing the teenager’s career, noting that outside pressures can negatively impact young players.
