JJ Watt Designs Burnley FC’s 2026‑27 Away Kit
NFL legend and Burnley co‑owner JJ Watt has taken a hands‑on role in creating the club’s away shirt for the 2026‑27 season. The cream‑coloured kit reintroduces the historic Burnley coat of arms crest that was last used in the late 1970s and early 2000s, featuring two lions, a worker bee and the Lancashire red rose. Watt worked with technical partner Castore and incorporated a bespoke pattern inspired by the stonework of Gawthorpe Hall, the club’s training ground.
The launch was accompanied by a video campaign showing Watt driving a vintage milk float around Burnley, a nod to his former NFL nickname “The Milkman.” Since buying a minority stake in the club with his wife Kealia in 2023, Watt has served as co‑owner, ambassador and now kit designer, describing the project as a “passion project” that celebrates the town’s heritage and supporters.
The new away strip will be worn in the Championship and aims to blend modern design with the club’s traditional identity, reinforcing Watt’s active involvement in Burnley’s on‑ and off‑field initiatives.
