JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra defends Congress stance amid protests

Tariq Hameed Karra, president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), has asserted that the party's alliance with the National Conference (NC) will not prevent it from raising public concerns in the Assembly. Speaking in Srinagar, Karra emphasized that the purpose of the legislative body is to address legitimate public demands and ensure issues are expedited, regardless of whether they originate from the ruling party or the opposition.

In a separate development in Jammu, Karra led a protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the display of posters that allegedly linked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to militancy. Karra claimed the BJP intended to create a false impression regarding the INDIA bloc leaders. The protest occurred alongside the Congress ‘Chaupal Pe Charcha’ outreach program, which focuses on issues such as unemployment, rising prices, and the restoration of statehood.
