Jël Liñu Moom calls for immigration control and repatriation in Senegal

The political party Jël Liñu Moom – Les Nationalistes is calling on the Senegalese government to implement a comprehensive policy of identification, control, and repatriation for foreign nationals in irregular situations. While the party welcomed recent Gendarmerie operations in Dakar to dismantle shelters linked to foreign begging, it argued that such actions are insufficient to address the underlying issue.

Party leader Tahirou Sarr advocated for a diplomatic approach to repatriate individuals when legal conditions are met. The party also urged authorities to crack down on organized networks involved in begging, solicitation, prostitution, and human trafficking.

Additionally, the party called for a reform of ECOWAS free movement mechanisms, stating that "free movement cannot mean free installation without control." Jël Liñu Moom emphasized the need for a balance between regional integration and the respect for national sovereignty and state laws.
