Jlantah Fair 2026 promotes culture at Waduk Jlantah

The Jlantah Fair 2026 was recently held at the Waduk Jlantah helipad area in Jatiyoso, Karanganyar, drawing thousands of spectators. The event featured a traditional ketoprak performance titled ‘Adeging Kutho Karanganyar’ with guest star Cak Yudho, serving as a medium to introduce local history and culture.

Originally an initiative by artists in Jatiyoso to showcase regional potential and natural scenery, the fair evolved into a collaborative effort involving the Jatiyoso District Government and the Karanganyar Regency Government. The event aims to integrate art, culinary experiences, and the creative industry into a public space.

Karanganyar Regent Rober Christanto praised the community-led initiative, noting that such grassroots creativity can drive regional development. He highlighted Waduk Jlantah’s potential to become a hub for nature tourism, arts, sports, and the creative economy, while urging residents to maintain the area’s cleanliness and beauty to attract visitors from outside the region.
