JMAS to offer water debt discounts in Ciudad Juárez

The Municipal Water and Sanitation Board (JMAS) of Ciudad Juárez will host its ‘Cerca de ti’ event this Friday, October 9, at the Río Grande Mall parking lot. The initiative aims to help local families regularize their water accounts by offering significant financial incentives.

Discounts on overdue debts will range from 20% to 90%, depending on the specific account status. Additionally, surcharges and fines may receive discounts of up to 100%. The event is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along Paseo Triunfo de la República.

Beyond water utility services, the event will provide various community resources in a single location, including the issuance of birth certificates, criminal record checks, MediChihuahua affiliation, and vaccinations. Educational activities for children through the ‘Cultura del Agua’ program will also be available.
