JMIR Publications reports on medical AI, smart textiles, and PMOS care

JMIR Publications has released several feature articles highlighting advancements in medical technology and healthcare accessibility.

In India, digital tools and smartphone adoption are being leveraged to address treatment gaps for Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS). Digital twin technology and app-delivered treatment plans are being explored to provide affordable care to women in rural regions where diagnosis and treatment are currently difficult to access.

Developments in smart textiles are also emerging, with fabrics being engineered to sense and track health markers. Future applications include medical care, climate adaptation, and military operations, with research moving toward fabrics that can actively respond to conditions, such as delivering antibiotics or adjusting pressure in response to swelling.

Additionally, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is implementing the Technology-Enabled Meaningful Patient Outcomes (TEMPO) pilot program. This initiative represents a new regulatory approach for managing AI-enabled digital health devices.
