JMSN issues cease-and-desist to White House over Trump ad
Musician JMSN, born Christian Berishaj, has issued a formal cease-and-desist letter to the White House regarding the unauthorized use of his 2014 song ‘Love Me’ in a campaign advertisement for Donald Trump.
The 30-second video features the song’s chorus alongside footage from Trump’s second term and audio from a speech by Dana White. JMSN’s legal representatives, including Norman L. Eisen of Democracy Defenders Action, addressed the letter to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. The legal team argues that the unauthorized use violates the Lanham Act by falsely implying that the artist endorses or is affiliated with the Trump administration.
JMSN stated via social media that he would ‘never authorize’ his music for any political agenda. The cease-and-desist demands the immediate removal of the video and requests information regarding the distribution and reach of the content across various platforms.
