João Pessoa implements education reforms and professional hiring

The municipal government of João Pessoa has significantly expanded its education workforce, surpassing initial targets for its latest public contest. Mayor Leo Bezerra oversaw the inauguration of 42 new professionals, including teachers, librarians, and specialists such as psychologists and pedagogues. This latest call, which also included 97 additional professionals from the reserve list, brings the total number of appointees from the recent contest to 550, exceeding the original 413 vacancies.

In conjunction with these hires, the municipal administration is emphasizing the professionalization of the teaching staff through competitive salaries and continuous training programs. Education Secretary América Castro highlighted the importance of these investments in maintaining a high-quality public education network.

Additionally, students from the municipal network are gaining national recognition in technology, with 20 students traveling to Rio de Janeiro to compete in the national stage of the First Lego League (FLL Explore) after securing top positions in regional competitions.
