Jönköping pair charged with aggravated pimping and human exploitation

A man and a woman are facing charges for aggravated pimping and aggravated human exploitation following a major investigation into sex trafficking. The prosecution, led by Karin Kron of the National Unit against International and Organized Crime, alleges the pair operated a salon in Jönköping where they encouraged female employees to engage in sexual encounters for payment and controlled the resulting income.

The indictment further details the exploitation of two women who were in a position of dependency, forcing them to work long stretches without breaks, including one woman who worked 155 consecutive days. Due to language barriers, the victims were reportedly unable to seek help. The investigation also links the pair to the operation of Thai massage salons in six other Swedish locations. Additionally, 15 men are being prosecuted for purchasing sex at the Jönköping salon.
