János Áder to take legal action over foundation dissolution

Former President János Áder has announced his intention to seek legal recourse following Prime Minister Péter Magyar’s decision to dissolve the Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation. The Prime Minister stated that the foundation, along with several other organizations, will cease to exist in its current form on August 31, with its responsibilities being transferred to the Hungarian state.

Áder has accused the Prime Minister of engaging in “uncontrolled political rampage” and “political revenge” against the former president. He claims that the government’s actions violate the rule of law and involve direct interference in ministerial operations. Áder specifically cited a written ultimatum from Minister Bálint Ruff regarding the foundation’s future as evidence of this pressure.

Furthermore, Áder alleged that a proposal from the Ministry of Finance regarding the foundation's dissolution was published for social consultation earlier in the week but was subsequently removed. He maintains that the foundation has operated without financial profit for the past decade and that recent investigations have revealed no legal violations.
