János Pócs faces allegations of public fund misuse

Hungarian Member of Parliament János Pócs is facing allegations regarding the potential misuse of public funds related to the 2024 Jászsági Aratónap event. Actor and activist Áron Molnár released videos alleging that two organizations linked to Pócs—the Jász Nemzeti Egyesület and the Jászapáti Gazdakör—may have bypassed funding limits by submitting parallel applications to the Bethlen Gábor Alapkezelő (BGA).

While the BGA grant ceiling is 11 million forints per organization, the two entities reportedly received 11 million and 10 million forints respectively. Molnár claims that Tari-Pócs Mónika, the MP’s daughter, received 5 million forints through her private business for catering services, including lamb stew and pastries. However, Molnár points to overlapping expenses, noting that the Jász Nemzeti Egyesület also claimed significant amounts for food ingredients and pastries for the same event.

János Pócs has responded to the allegations by announcing that he and his family will take legal action.
