JO1 gains momentum with viral Hollywood video and festival performance

Japanese boy group JO1 is experiencing significant momentum following a viral moment in Hollywood and a successful performance at Rock in Japan Festival 2026. Member Takumi Kawanishi gained widespread attention after participating in a street rap collaboration with the Canadian duo Crash Adams in Hollywood; the video has amassed millions of views across social media platforms.

On the musical front, the group's new song ‘IGNITE’, which serves as the opening theme for the anime ‘Tokyo Revengers’, has performed strongly on digital download charts immediately following its early release. JO1 also recently won the ‘Best Dance & Vocal Group Video’ award at the MTV VMAJ 2026.

During their appearance at the Rock in Japan Festival in Chiba, the group performed a ten-song set accompanied by a live band, including the live debut of ‘IGNITE’. The group is currently preparing for a U.S. debut with their EP ‘ANIMAL’ in October and the release of their 11th single ‘AAO’ in November.
