JO1 releases music video for US debut title track ‘ANIMAL’

The global boy group JO1 has released the music video for ‘ANIMAL’, the title track from their US debut original EP ‘ANIMAL’, which was released on October 2. The EP features six tracks produced by Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Dem Jointz.

Member Takumi Kawanishi participated in the composition of the title track. The song is described as a dance anthem with a message about releasing one’s inner wildness. The music video depicts the group moving beyond the ‘cage’ of Japan into the ‘jungle’ of the world, utilizing choreography that incorporates animal-like movements and Afro-style elements based on traditional African dance.

The performance features a large-scale finale involving 30 dancers, symbolizing liberation from constraints. The group has previously performed the track at major events such as KCON LA 2026 and ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026.
