Joakim Kungsman's 730‑km Run Raises Funds for Brain Research
Joakim Kungsman, a runner from Malmö, began an 18‑day, 73‑mil (approximately 730 km) trek from Gothenburg to Stockholm on 13 July. By mid‑journey he had reached Östergötland, running along the Göta Canal near Motala, and plans to finish in Stockholm on 30 July.
The effort is a fundraising campaign for Hjärnfonden, the Swedish Brain Fund, with the goal of raising 100 000 kronor for brain‑disease research. Kungsman is motivated by personal experience: several family members have suffered from brain tumours, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and brain haemorrhage, and he wants to support research that could improve outcomes for patients and their relatives.
