Joan Jett Cancels September US Shows After Spinal Surgery
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Joan Jett, 67, announced she has undergone orthopedic surgery to treat a fractured vertebra. In a statement posted to Instagram, her team said she will not be able to perform at the two scheduled U.S. concerts: the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California on September 5, 2026, and the Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, Kentucky on September 24, 2026. The cancellations were made in close consultation with her doctors, and Jett expressed that she “hates to disappoint fans” but will focus on physical therapy and healing.
The shows were to mark her return to American stages after a busy summer of European dates, including a five‑date UK headline tour and a support slot for My Chemical Romance at Wembley. With the two September dates withdrawn, no further live performances are currently scheduled for Jett and the Blackhearts in 2026.
