Joan Mir faces mixed results at Silverstone MotoGP

Joan Mir experienced contrasting results during the MotoGP British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone. In the sprint race, the Honda rider secured an eighth-place finish, demonstrating strong tire management and consistency. Despite a qualifying error where he prematurely aborted a lap due to a perceived yellow flag, Mir managed to gain several positions during the sprint, finishing closely behind Pedro Acosta.

However, Mir’s performance in the main Grand Prix ended in a crash on the first lap. Describing the incident as “very strange,” Mir reported feeling hits from both the front and the back before spinning out. The crash also caused Yamaha rider Alex Rins to fall after making contact with Mir’s downed motorcycle. This non-finish marks Mir's eighth DNF in 12 races during the 2026 campaign, leaving him 18th in the riders' standings.
