Joan Mir to ride Ducati for Gresini from 2027 after recent Honda woes
Spanish MotoGP rider Joan Mir has signed a multi‑year agreement to join the Gresini Racing team on a factory Ducati from the 2027 season. Team owner Nadia Padovani said, "Joan is a MotoGP world champion, his record speaks for itself," and noted the move reflects a renewed partnership with Ducati.
Mir’s decision follows a difficult 2024 season with Honda, highlighted by back‑to‑back crashes at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen. After the race he admitted, "Honestly, yesterday I knew why I crashed. Today, I don't know. It's something that happens quite often, that you crash and you don't know why," underscoring the frustration of unexplained falls despite showing strong pace on the bike.
