A major controversy has erupted in the Polish film industry regarding the casting of the sequel to the cult comedy ‘Nigdy w życiu!’. Actress Joanna Jabłczyńska, who played the character Tosia in the 2004 original, expressed deep disappointment after being replaced by Agnieszka Żulewska in the new production, ‘Właśnie że tak! Nigdy w życiu! 20 lat później’.

Jabłczyńska alleged that she was led to believe she would participate in the film, only to be informed that the production had chosen a different candidate due to financial interests. Producers, however, countered that she had participated in a casting process and was not selected.

The dispute escalated into a public feud involving author Katarzyna Grochola and Dorota Szelągowska. Szelągowska faced significant backlash for criticizing Jabłczyńska, eventually issuing an apology. To resolve the conflict and avoid legal action from Grochola, Jabłczyńska issued a formal apology via social media, stating she had violated Grochola’s personal rights and reputation. As part of the settlement, Jabłczyńska also donated 5,000 PLN to the Rak’n’Roll Foundation.
