Joao Cancelo poised to sign permanent deal with FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona is close to completing a permanent transfer for Portuguese right‑back Joao Cancelo from Saudi club Al‑Hilal. The clubs have agreed on a fee reported to be between €8 million and €10 million, and Barcelona will offer Cancelo a contract for the next two seasons, running until 2028.

Cancelo, 32, previously joined Barcelona on loan twice and impressed under coach Hansi Flick, playing on both flanks. The deal hinges on finalising his release from Al‑Hilal, where he remains under contract until June 2027. Barcelona hopes to seal the agreement within days so the player can take part in the pre‑season preparations for the 2026‑27 campaign.
