Joao Mario faces uncertain future at Fiorentina

Portuguese defender Joao Mario is struggling to secure a consistent role at Fiorentina following the arrival of manager Paolo Vanoli. Despite an encouraging start to the season, the 26-year-old has seen his playing time diminish due to the development of Alex Jimenez and the return of Dodo to the rotation.

Mario joined Fiorentina on a loan deal with an option to buy following stints at Juventus and Bologna. As his involvement remains limited, several scenarios for the January transfer window are being considered. These include a potential return to Juventus or a move to Bologna, where he previously played, as the club seeks defensive reinforcements following injuries to their squad.
