Joao Pedro named Premier League Player of the Month for August
Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has been named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026. The Brazilian striker won the award via a public vote, finishing ahead of teammate Cole Palmer and six other nominees.
Pedro's recognition follows a strong start to the 2026/27 season, where he recorded four goal contributions in Chelsea's opening two matches. In the season opener against Fulham, he scored just 33 seconds into the game and later assisted Palmer for the winning goal in a 3-2 victory. He followed this performance in a 4-3 win against Brighton & Hove Albion by scoring a goal and providing another assist for Palmer.
This marks the first time Pedro has received the monthly honor and is the first time a Chelsea player has won the award since Cole Palmer in September 2024. Regarding the video game tie-in, Electronic Arts noted it will not release a special Player of the Month card for the Ultimate Team mode in EA FC 27.
