Joao Pedro targets Brazil recall following strong Chelsea start

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro is aiming for a recall to the Brazil national team following a strong start to the 2026-27 season. The 24-year-old has recorded two goals and two assists in his first two Premier League matches, including a goal in Chelsea's 4-3 victory over Brighton.

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti was reportedly in attendance at Stamford Bridge to observe Pedro's performance. Despite his recent form, Pedro was omitted from Brazil's recent World Cup squad in favor of more experienced attackers. He has made eight senior appearances for the Selecao but has yet to score for the national side.

Pedro, who joined Chelsea from Brighton in July 2025, previously led Chelsea in goals last season with 20 strikes. He stated that he intends to maintain high standards to earn his place in the upcoming international fixtures against Australia and India.
