Joaquín Gerónimo claims public discontent will drive 2028 political change
Joaquín Gerónimo, a member of the Political Directorate of the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) party, has expressed that growing public discontent with the current PRM government will drive political change in the 2028 elections.
Speaking during a radio broadcast in New Jersey, Gerónimo cited several critical issues affecting the Dominican Republic, including power outages, insecurity, the high cost of living, and problems regarding health and pensions. He argued that despite the administration's management of significant resources and increased national debt, the results have failed to meet the population's expectations.
Gerónimo suggested that these conditions are encouraging voters to seek an alternative through 'useful voting,' potentially concentrating support behind the opposition candidate perceived as having the best chance to displace the PRM from power.
