Joaquín Niemann finishes second at the Irish Open

Chilean golfer Joaquín Niemann secured second place at the Irish Open, a DP World Tour event held at the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg. Niemann finished with a total score of 12 under par, sharing the runner-up position with American golfer Patrick Reed.

As the second and third place prizes were designated at $660,000 and $378,000 respectively, Niemann and Reed split the total amount, resulting in a payout of $519,000 each for Niemann.

Local player Shane Lowry won the tournament with an 11-stroke lead, earning $1,020,000 for first place plus a $30,000 bonus for the best round. Lowry’s victory set a new record for the largest margin of victory at this event.
