JobKorea analysis shows rising demand for AI skills and remote work interest

An analysis of six years of recruitment data by JobKorea reveals significant shifts in hiring trends, specifically regarding artificial intelligence and work environments. The demand for AI-related competencies has surged, with job postings mentioning AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini increasing by 198% year-on-year. This growth is particularly evident in the ‘preferred qualifications’ section of job advertisements, where companies are increasingly specifying technical expertise and experience with generative AI.

Simultaneously, there is a growing disconnect between job seekers and employers regarding remote work. While search interest for ‘work from home’ has remained high and consistently ranked among the top search terms, the actual number of job postings offering remote work has dropped by approximately 65% since its peak in 2022. Despite this decline, the industry distribution for remote roles is diversifying, with a notable increase in non-IT sectors such as medical, pharmaceutical, and educational industries offering remote opportunities.
