Joby Aviation expands Texas operations for eVTOL testing

Joby Aviation is expanding its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operations in Texas, opening a 45,000-square-foot facility at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport in Haslet. The site will serve as a base for planned operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and supports the company's participation in the federal eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP).

As part of the eIPP, Joby plans to begin pilot-only flights in Texas next month to demonstrate vertical takeoff and landing operations within a major metropolitan market. The company's long-term goal is to progress to carrying non-paying and eventually paying passengers, with the intent to connect cities like Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.

In its second-quarter earnings report, Joby reported revenue of $39 million, largely driven by its Blade passenger business. Due to this performance, the company raised its full-year revenue guidance to between $115 million and $125 million.
