Jodhpur police seize opium and ₹1.06 crore in raid on ex‑NSG commander
Jodhpur police conducted coordinated raids at three locations during the night, targeting a drug‑trafficking network. They recovered between 6 kg and 8 kg of opium, seized cash worth ₹1.06 crore (about US$ 130,000), a car and a vehicle loaded with more than 40 kg of doda. The operation led to the arrest of former Assam Rifles and NSG commando Ratan Singh, who had been running a contracting business after retirement. Additional arrests included Ramnivas Vishnoi, from whom 6 kg of opium and ₹6 lakh cash were seized, and Dinesh Vishnoi, detained after a vehicle with a large doda load was intercepted. Police are interrogating the suspects to map the extent of the network and to determine the source of the seized narcotics and money. The investigation continues under the direction of DCP Manish Chaudhary and senior state officials.
