Jodie Whittaker and Ellen Pompeo lead Hulu's 'Chicks' crime‑dramedy pilot

Hulu is developing a new pilot titled “Chicks,” a crime‑dramedy starring Doctor Who alum Jodie Whittaker and Grey’s Anatomy veteran Ellen Pompeo. The series follows estranged half‑sisters Chickie (Pompeo) and Doreen (Whittaker) who inherit their late father’s small‑time criminal operations and decide to expand the scams while repairing their relationship.

The show is created and written by Katie Robbins, who also serves as executive producer alongside Pompeo and Laura Holstein. Production is handled by 20th Television, with filming planned to begin in New York in September. Whittaker, recently BAFTA‑nominated for “Toxic Town,” and Pompeo, long‑time TV icon, will portray tough, resourceful women navigating both family and fraud.

The pilot is part of Hulu’s expanding slate of original series and is awaiting a series order after the initial production stage.
