Jody Cecchetto talks family rift with Max Pezzali and his own rise in Italian media

Jody Cecchetto, son of renowned Italian producer Claudio Cecchetto, gave an interview in which he said he would not attend a Max Pezzali concert and would ask his former protégé, "Why?" about the abrupt professional and personal split between Pezzali and his father.

Cecchetto recalled growing up with the music of the 883, which his father helped launch, and described the lingering nostalgia and sadness surrounding the breakup. He also outlined his own career, noting an early television debut at age 14, a brief stint as a rapper under the name JDC, a popular presence on Twitch streaming Minecraft, acting roles in series such as Alex & Co and Maggie & Bianca, and hosting duties on various radio and TV programmes, including Sanremo's Prima Festival in 2023.

He emphasized the influence of his father, who discovered artists like Jovanotti and Fiorello, while asserting his desire to build an independent reputation beyond being "the son of" Claudio Cecchetto.
