Jody Hoffer Gittell to visit Chile to discuss relational coordination
Jody Hoffer Gittell, a management professor at Brandeis University and creator of Relational Coordination theory, will visit Chile to participate in three events organized by the University of Chile’s Faculty of Economics and Business.
Gittell’s research addresses why companies often fail to improve productivity despite significant investments in technology and talent. She argues that organizational performance depends not just on available resources, but on the ability of teams to work in a coordinated manner.
According to Gittell, high-performing organizations differentiate themselves through effective coordination based on timely, precise, and problem-solving communication. This requires relationships built on shared objectives, mutual knowledge, and respect, especially when tasks and responsibilities are interdependent.
