Jody Jamieson Secures Spot in 2027 World Driving Championship

Veteran driver Jody Jamieson of Guelph, Ontario, qualified for the 2027 World Driving Championship by winning the 2026 Canadian driving title at Clinton Raceway on July 26, 2026. He accumulated 60 points over eight races, edging out Stéphane Brosseau (56 points) and Marc Campbell (54 points). Jamieson, a former world champion in 2001 and 2011, will be joined by two‑time champion James MacDonald for the world series.

The 2027 championship will be staged across Canada, opening at Century Downs in Calgary on August 14, followed by a leg at Track On 2 in Lacombe, Alberta on August 15, then Woodbine Mohawk Park in Campbellville, Ontario on August 16, Hippodrome 3R in Trois‑Rivières, Quebec on August 18, and concluding at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino in Charlottetown on August 20. Jamieson, who turns 50 in November, said, “I’ll be 50 in November… I feel like I’m 25 years old, and I’m as hungry as ever.”
