Joe Abercrombie talks film adaptation of The Devils and new trilogy at Avilés event

Joe Abercrombie made his eleventh appearance at a literary event in Avilés, thanking the audience and noting the town’s presence in his current trilogy, which includes the forthcoming novel The Devils and the recently announced The Heretics. During the panel his wife Lou Abercrombie joined him on stage to describe a writer’s daily life. Abercrombie described his writing method, likening it to repeatedly striking a wall, and said he does not consider himself creative. He also referenced his past work on the series Love, Death & Robots and confirmed that James Cameron holds the film‑adaptation rights to The Devils, adding that the project is progressing but will not be released soon. He promised to return next year to present the book and joked about "going after" fellow fantasy author Brandon Sanderson.
