Joe Alt expected to miss Week 5 for Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are facing significant offensive line depth issues heading into Week 5 as right tackle Joe Alt is expected to miss the upcoming divisional game against the Denver Broncos due to a neck injury. Alt, who was injured during a loss to the Seahawks, is currently undergoing rehabilitation, though there are no immediate plans to place him on injured reserve.

This injury compounds existing problems for the Chargers' offensive line. Left tackle Rashawn Slater is also sidelined with a high ankle sprain. Other injuries impacting the unit include a concussion for Trevor Penning, a fibula injury for Kayode Awosika, and a neck injury for Branson Taylor. With several starters unavailable, the team may be forced to rely on rookie depth, including Travis Burke and Logan Taylor, to protect quarterback Justin Herbert.
