Joe Biden receives Planned Parenthood of Delaware award

Former U.S. President Joe Biden received the Sonia Schorr Sloan Service Award at the 22nd Annual Chocolate & Champagne Gala hosted by Planned Parenthood of Delaware. The award, presented by Jill Biden, honors the legacy of Sloan, who led the organization from 1980 to 1984.

During his speech in Claymont, Biden defended his record on reproductive rights and urged supporters not to “give up” in the fight to keep abortion legal. He specifically addressed the impact of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade, noting that the late Sloan would have responded to the ruling with action rather than fear.
