Joe Buck reportedly signs $108M extension with ESPN
Joe Buck has reportedly signed a six-year contract extension with ESPN worth approximately $108 million. The deal will keep the veteran play-by-play announcer with the network through 2031 or 2032, ensuring his continued role as the voice of ‘Monday Night Football’.
Buck, who moved from FOX to ESPN in 2022, has been credited with stabilizing the Monday Night Football broadcast booth. The extension comes amid a period of high demand for sports broadcasting talent, following massive deals such as Tom Brady’s reported $375 million agreement with FOX.
There are also reports that ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro is interested in eventually adding World Series rights to the network’s portfolio. If ESPN were to acquire rights to the Fall Classic, potentially starting in 2029, Buck is viewed as a primary candidate to serve as the play-by-play voice for those broadcasts.
