Joe Burgess signs with Catalans Dragons

Winger Joe Burgess has officially signed a two-year contract with the Catalans Dragons, joining the club for the 2027 season. The 32-year-old will depart Hull KR at the end of the 2026 season to make the move to Perpignan.

Burgess joins the Dragons following a successful three-year tenure at Hull KR, where he scored 65 tries in 74 appearances. His departure from the English club follows salary cap constraints. Under head coach John Cartwright, Burgess is expected to provide experience and speed to the Dragons' squad.

Burgess expressed his excitement about the opportunity to play in a different country. Cartwright described him as a ‘proven match winner’ and a ‘genuine try scorer and try saver’ who can make a difference both offensively and defensively.
