Joe Cokanasiga eligible to switch rugby allegiance to Fiji

Rugby player Joe Cokanasiga is now eligible to switch international allegiance to Fiji, following a period of inactivity with the England national team. Born in Suva, Fiji, Cokanasiga meets the requirements under World Rugby’s Regulation 8, which allows a player to change unions after a three-year stand-down period from their original country.

Cokanasiga, a winger for Bath, has not represented England since August 2023. While he has expressed a continued desire to play international rugby, his prospects for the 2027 Rugby World Cup with England appear increasingly uncertain.

In related selection discussions, former England player Ugo Monye has advocated for Adam Radwan to receive another opportunity with the England squad. Monye highlighted Radwan’s development at Leicester Tigers, noting that the winger has evolved into a skilled jackaler in addition to his natural pace.
