Joe Hart defends Manchester City medals after FFP verdict

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has responded to criticism from Roy Keane regarding the club’s recent guilty verdict for breaching 114 Premier League financial rules. Keane had suggested that players involved during the period of the breaches should “stick their medals in the bin,” but Hart dismissed the comments as being made by someone who has not been in that specific situation.

Hart, who made 348 appearances for the club between 2006 and 2018, stated he has “no reason not to trust Khaldoon Al Mubarak,” the Manchester City chairman. He expressed that the potential stripping of titles would not change his personal pride in the work he and his teammates performed on the pitch.

The club is currently appealing the verdict, maintaining they have “irrefutable evidence” to support their innocence, with an outcome expected in late December. The breaches occurred between 2009 and 2018, a period during which Hart won two Premier League titles, two League Cups, and an FA Cup.
