Joe Hisaishi sets three Guinness World Records
Japanese composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi, renowned for his work with Studio Ghibli, has been awarded three Guinness World Records.
The first record recognizes Hisaishi for the longest single-run residency by a classical composer at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, following a week of performances from August 11 to 17.
Additional records include the most tickets sold by a classical composer at the Tokyo Dome, with 133,453 attendees for his Studio Ghibli Film Concert Tour in July, and the most tickets sold for a classical concert run at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, totaling 45,538 tickets during his July performances.
