Joe Ingles reflects on career decisions and retirement plans
Basketball player Joe Ingles has revealed that at age 17, he was close to signing with the New Zealand Breakers before ultimately deciding to join the South Dragons. Ingles noted that a call from the Dragons led to a life-changing decision, allowing him to begin his professional career with the club and eventually win a championship under coach Brian Goorjian.
Now 38, Ingles is nearing the end of an extensive career that includes over 800 NBA games and championship titles in Israel, Spain, and the EuroLeague with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He stated that he will retire only when he loses his competitiveness or the joy and passion for the game. He expressed a desire to continue playing at a high level as long as he can contribute effectively to his team.
