Joe Klanderman named interim head coach at Baylor

Joe Klanderman has been appointed as the interim head coach at Baylor University following the dismissal of Dave Aranda. The decision was announced by Vice President and Director of Athletics Doug McNamee after the team’s 25-24 loss to Kansas.

Klanderman, who previously served as a defensive coordinator, expressed his commitment to providing a “jolt of energy” to the players, staff, and fanbase. He noted that while the coaching change came as a shock, the team has already begun working to regain its momentum.

As the program navigates this transition, roster retention remains a critical challenge due to the transfer portal. Key players identified as essential for the program's future include quarterbacks DJ Lagway and Nate Bennett.
