Joe Lauzon to make bare-knuckle debut at Fenway Park
Former UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon is set to make his bare-knuckle boxing debut at BKFC 92 this Saturday at Fenway Park in Boston. Facing Braeden Kuykendall, the 42-year-old Lauzon has not competed since 2019, when he last appeared in a UFC cage in Boston.
During a press conference, Lauzon expressed uncertainty regarding his long-term future in the sport, stating he will decide whether to continue based on his experience at Fenway. He noted that while he has not officially retired, he is treating this event as a potential test to see if he enjoys the bare-knuckle format. Lauzon mentioned that the transition to no-glove fighting feels natural due to his history of sparring with 16-ounce gloves and his experience in the clinch.
Kuykendall enters the bout with a 0-2 BKFC record but holds a 6-2 MMA record with all six victories coming by stoppage.
